I had a lovely time meeting baby Erica and her besotted parents recently for a family photography session. The couple live in Kings Worthy, and had selected a favourite venue of theirs, stables out at Avington Barn, for their shoot.
Baby Erica was a superstar, and enjoyed every minute of their shoot – at only 5 months old she was smiling and laughing and her mummy and daddy (and grandma) made her chuckle and grin.
I enjoyed including their other family member, Hoopy the horse, in the shoot as well. What is it they say about not working with children or animals ? I just can’t quite remember.
Emmanuel and Jessica gave me great feedback afterwards,which was lovely. It made my day to hear how much their photographs mean to them. They have family far and wide around the world, so photographs that they are proud to share is really important.

Did you have any concerns about doing a family photoshoot before the event?
We were slightly apprehensive as to posing, getting the right venue for the photos, the weather, whether Erica and Hoopy (the pony) would behave well and look at the camera. But we were not concerned at all once we met you at the stable as you were very accomodating and quickly put us at ease! You gave us the right amount of prompting and suggestion (not authoritative nor passive) to try different shots and spots. So thank you for being flexible and understanding.
We think there’s a very nice balance of photos taken at different places at the stable, zoomed facial to whole body shots. Thank you so much for the variety of the shots.
Once again, thank you so much for your time and coming over to meet us at the yard. We are very happy that we found you for our memorable photoshoot. We will cherish these photos for very long time!
