On Sunday, I met the lovely Canadian Jarretts to do a Baby Photoshoot at Mottisfont. Baby Isla is four months old, and one of the most photogenic little girls I have taken pictures of. Her eyes followed the camera everywhere as I took pictures of this family. We met on a cold, blustery day. It hadn’t been forecast to rain that day, but the air was a little misty and drizzly. We braved it though, and spent 50 minutes strolling through Mottisfont taking lots of pictures. The advantage of a day of ‘average’ weather is that it ensures Mottisfont is nice and quiet !
We started off outside the front of Mottisfont Abbey and took a walk around the back of the house, up past my favourite Shepherd’s Hut, and into the Rose Gardens. There isn’t much rose action at this time of the year, but the gardens are still lovely and well tended.
Even though the weather was dull and a bit rainy, I love the colours of this photoshoot. The diffused light provided by a cloudy sky makes for a fairly ‘pure’ looking photograph, with no odd shadows caused by the sun.
